Check out the tourist information website http://www.tourismcalgary.com they have an events calender that can help you.

And maybe this page http://www.ghptravel.com/htm/place/cacal1.htm can help you with so typical sightseeing things.

Just walk into a pub and say "the next round's on me!" - I guarantee you'll start your very own festival!! Oh and you really should be there on Wednesdays as Beckhams have wings night....very, very recommended!

Beckhams is a pub/bar and wings night seems to be a tradition around Calgary (maybe more of Canada?) whereby they serve chicken wings - kindof like KFC, but better tasting. Generally you get a batch then share them round a group of friends....oh and you need alcohol if you're going for "suicide wings"! Smile

Calgary is a really friendly place so just sit at the bar and I'm sure you'll find 20 people you want to swap e-mail addresses with, usually in about 20 minutes.

Hi Deaddoll,
If you are around the North East of Calgay on Friday night (the Airport is in the NE)
and so is Beckam's Pub and Eatery- 1355 - 32 Ave NE.
Trev is right it's a great place , of course I introduced him to it.
Anyway, I will be there at Beckam's on Friday after work (5 .00 to 7.00) yep sitting at the bar.
Just ask for me, and I'll buy you a cold one.
Josee

Or just look for the pretty one with the curly hair (appears permed but is natural I'm assured) and you'll know her. Wish I was there, could do with a decent pub session!

I am glad you found Calgary as fun as we (trev and I) seem to like it.

Out of curiousity did you stop at Sears Travel downtown and ask a young
lady about a nice place to have diner at?
It's just that my daughter works for Sears Travel and mentioned that someone from London was on a one day layover and asked about a good place to have diner.
And she gave them Mother Tuckers, which is where she took me for Mother's day
brunch.

Warning - Calgary is very, very addictive and very safe so you will start having withdrawl symptoms pretty soon. Did you head down on the train to downtown?
