wow, that does look narrow.
Chapmans Peak in SA is also legendary, but I don't hink it compares to the one shown on the pic. _________________ African Safari Holidays

| Independence Pass in Colorado scared me (not helped by seeing a tow truck haul a motorbike out of a ravine on the way) but at least it wasn't full of big trucks edging past each other like that one! |

| I used to judge the danger by how many coaches trucks and cars were over the top and lying in the trees etc.... |

I judge it by whether or not I dare look down, so I had no idea what lay below! In any event, Independence falls away so steeply, only my wife, on the passenger side, would have been able to see, and she wasn't looking either!! |

The road that scared me--Hana Highway, Maui, Hawaii.
Winding roads, dangerous curves and single lane bridges with big trucks. it also had a lot of waterfalls and led to a black sand beach. _________________ A sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to your steps as you walk the tightrope of life--W.A. Ward |

I believe the road between Baghdad airport and the Green Zone is currently regarded as the most dangerous. Albeit in a different way that you meant. _________________ -----

A week ago last Saturday BBC Radio 4's "From our own Correspondent" featured this pass. It was quite horrific. He witnessed a bus driver bleed to death after crashing into a vehicle and severing the arteries in his leg. There was evidence of tyre tracks going off into the void everywhere. Also when it rains heavily truck drivers have parked up at night to wait for better visibility only to find the road washed away from beneath them.
The good news is that there are plans to build a safer road along a different route, but it is taking years to get off the drawing board.

Wow, and I thought driving in through the Cascades and Rockies was bad! Those are some horrifying pictures. I hope that they come up with another route soon, as I would hate to be those drivers! _________________ Learn all you need to know before you go |

Anyone know a more dangerous road that this?

I cannot imagine driving on that narrow road. I hate small spaces so I am sure I would freak on that road...lol. _________________ Annecy
