A survey of 450 affluent Americans found the following:

20% said they would buy a ticket for a sub-orbital hop 50 miles into space, at a cost of $100,000 for 15 minutes in space, when it becomes available to the public
7% said they would be willing to plunk down $20 million for a two-week trip aboard a space station in Earth orbit.

Assuming money was no object to you, would you be joining them?!

Aaron

Depends how they power the craft!

I'd love to see the planet from outside the atmosphere, but we pollute the air we already fly through, so unless someone markets a clean propulsion system to take me into space I'll stick to the occasional long-haul flight.

I'm in. Just as Dan said, it would be very, very cool to see the earth from up in space. I love watching the sunrises and sunsets when I am flying, staring out the window and watching the sun reflect off the top of the clouds. I can only imagine it would be that much cooler to see the sunrise over the entire hemisphere at once.

I will definitely go. Some astronauts have described the view as "underscribable". That's enough to boost my already well developed curiousity Very Happy

Sure, count me in too. I think the view would be spectacular, that and the prospect of being weightless, has me signing up.

BTW, Julie you're in Colomibia now, weren't you in the USA last week? Wink
Uh-huh, Cool Nod I noticed.
