Antioquia department is one of the most beautiful places to see in Colombia.

First of all there is Medellin, the capital of Antioquia, that is the most ebautiful city in Colombia
in Medellin you can find mix of new and old colombia, plus there is very rich night life with many kinds of night clubs and bars
The paisas (the women of medellin) are considered the most beautiful women in Colombia
in general the people on Antioquia are very nice and friendly and in comparing to Bogota Medellin is much more friendly city, and much more safe.

Besides Medellin there are many sites worth visiting in antioquia department, and to most of them its posible to travel in a day trip from medellin.
Some of these sites are:
1. Rionegro area - include many nice villages and nice landscape. plus there are nice waterfalls near La Ceja and park piedra blankas, that has treking routh, camping places and a nice lake to boat in.

2. The El paniol Rock, that is a huge Rock in the midle of a vally with lakes, its posible to climp this rock, about half an hour throw the stairs.

3. La Pindata area - include Cauca river and nice villages like jerico and santa barbera. and a very nice landscape.
its posible to make a round trip: medellin - santa barbera - la pintada - bolombolo - medellin.
this way you have the chance to see more places.

4. Santa fe de Antioquia - that is the village the was in the far past the capital of antioquia department before medellin. there is a very nice bridge 10 minutes from the village.
also there is a new spa hotel, for those of you that are looking for some cool relaxing.

And of course thats only the highlights, there is more...
