Hello to all. I am new to this forum, but I just recently got back from living in Ghana for a year, and I feel like I have got so much to talk about and very few people who I can talk to. So, this is my latest step. A little about my trip; I attended University in Legon and it was really great. The African Dance classes there are so amazing and humiliating all at the same time. Really worth it. The country has so much to offer and so much to see that it sometimes is hard to know where to start. Beaches and tropical forests are always an easy option, which I took full advantage of. Places like Ellis' Hideout in Butre and Bobiri forest are my favorites. Volunteering was another point of interest for me. I volunteered all around the country, but my favorite experience was in Ejura through Kidsworldwide. The program is really amazing; I was teaching KG and there are other options available. I really like the idea of supporting a grassroots program where you can see how your money is being utilized. It only costs $350 for the first month and $100 for every other month for materials and such. If anyone is interested they can look at the programs website at link deleted by moderator
This country is really amazing and there is so much culture and hospitality. I never felt alone; I had the entire country looking after me. |
