In view of Paul's recent posts about space tourism...

Imagine this: tomorrow you win 200 milliion € with EuroMillions lottery. OK, you're rich now. Time to do something with your miserable life! Laughing

Would you go on a space trip?

(I would, you know)

No, I wouldn't either. I'd sooner spend the money on travelling around Earth. Smile

If there was less poverty in the world I would try a space trip. It would be sick to be that extravagent when so many lack clean water, sanitation, and even food in this world.

Yeah well... I got news for you, John. Ands it ain't good: there's not enough resources on our planet to give everyoned the same standard as in our western countries. There's just too damn many of us. Crying or Very sad

Mind you; I don't mean to disrespect. What you say is very noble.

I back Jochen up oin this,we have to explore the world ourselves and continue on helping these people. They need skills to learn how to be self sufficient.

I agree sidesplitter that we need to help the people getting more self sufficient but wasting 20 million on a space trip go's a bit to far for me.

Jochen,

The point I was trying to make was that spending 20 million on a spce flight is effectively wasting it, when the money could be put to better use. When Europeans found America noone went on a two week vacation a few years later did they?

True. An example: the amount of money spent on the war in Iraq already passes the total debt amount of Africa... It is saddening if you think of it. Crying or Very sad

Well.. if I pay 20 million to China for flying with them, then that 20 million is spent on technolgy, and jobs to produce that technology, isn't it? Wink

(you do have a point though)
