When traveling with a laptop, sometimes it's handy to keep what you are carrying discrete. Can anyone recommned any bags or cases that do just this? I recently became aware of the Knomo laptop bag, but it seemed to be more of a fashion accessory (and perhaps drew people's attention to it, rather than the opposite). Any suggestions?

I have occasionally just wrapped my laptop in some dirty clothes and put it in my carry-on bag. Of course, that was pre-9/11 when one didn't have to remove the laptop and put it through separately for the X-ray machine.
I would like to get something like this: Over the Shoulder bag. I try and walk home from work when I am in Toronto, so I think it would make you look like a bike courier instead like an office worker.

maybe this is a uk thing but i thought some laptops come with special cases for everything you will need for it. if not i suppose a shop which sells laptops will be able to assist you in your product search. _________________ http://teenagepoetry.proboards55.com |

Most laptops come with cases that scream "I'm carrying a laptop!", lindi13. I am asking about those bags that don't do that. i.e. bags that you can carry a laptop in, yet it's not obvious what the contents are.

When i travel i just take my OLD toshiba Libretto laptop to store my pictures and do some quick emailing. But because it's so small (size vcr tape) i just put it in my backpack that i carry as handluggage. (next to most of my camera equipment that i also don't want to show to much) _________________ GHPtravel,

You can try this : I have a bagpack with an inner room for my camelback. Seems to be big enough to hold a laptop too. But the idea of running around with a bagpack and in a suit is not ideal too...Maybe a new fashion revolution _________________ Around 2500 pictures from Nepal /Nepal /

I saw once a backpack with a laptop case inside. No one could guess what's inside the bag- it looks like a normal one... _________________ Properties In Israel - Buying or Renting your properties in Israel. Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Caesarea, Raanana and Herzliya Pituach.

When I fly I take a Tungsten T3 PDA and Wireless keyboard they fold down to fit into my pocket and don't cause weight problems with the No frills airiles weight limits. The one thing I am missing is a WiFi card but Palm now make one for the T3. When I get one (hope the price drops a bit first) I will be able to do almost everthying a laptop can do except download digital photos from my camera to it.
When traveling by car I will continue to take my laptop and hide it away in a hidden compartment in the trunk.

I bought mine from PC World in UK.
Its a backpack that slings over your shoulder (only one strap) goes from left shoulder to right hip.
Doesnt look like a laptop bag at all!!! My 17" widescreen laptop fits perfect and you cant tell. |

I use my frietag bag. Sturdy, stylish, recycled, and expandable! That have a laptop specific bag, but I use one of their regular ones.
