Suncream has gone on sale for dogs in the UK. The £2.99 sunblock protects exposed areas such as the nose and ears.

Sunglasses and beef-flavoured ice lollies are also available at the Pets At Home store reports The Sun. A Pets At Home spokesperson said: "The lollies are flying off the shelves."

Would you buy suncream or any of these other products for your pet(s)?

I don't think that i would ever buy those kind of product.

Like special cat milk (didn't cats drink ordinary milk for years and years?)

But i expect that the market for those kind of pet things is HUGE so why not try to get some of the market share Bright Idea

I don't think any animal needs a suncream - they are more adjusted to the invironment than humans.

dogs don't eat anything frozen/cold (or hot) - so I think the ice lolly has to melt first which is not the purpose they were bought for

I think it is possible for cats, dogs and even rabbits to get sunburn depending on the density of their fur, but I'd suspect cats are usually sensible enough not to stand out in the sun too long.

Sunglasses - now that just sounds daft! I assume this is for dogs mainly, but I can't really imagine they'd need them and I'm guessing they are the cheap type you buy at the seaside rather than the UV-A blocking type anyway.

That one has some basis of logic in that ordinary milk can actually make cats ill. Can't remember what it is, but there's something that causes problems. Ours absolutely loves it.

They probably like the sugar I suspect. For example our cat will come flying if you just take the top off the squirty cream (that Anchor stuff) and always goes into "I like you, I really like you" mode when it sees it in your hand. I suspect however it's the sugar it's really after.

I wonder if dogs get ice cream tooth as in the pain when you bite into something really cold? Smile
