As most visitors will have realised, Scotland is a country with a huge variety of interests, activities, history and scenery.
Which areas are your favourites?

Probably the Trossachs for me for a "day to day" treat. The 10th tee at Royal Dornoch Golf club for a truely wonderful day out though (pity I stay about 250 miles away) _________________ http://www.scotlandforvisitors.com/ |

my current favourite area is Morar/Moidart/Ardnamurchan. Great scenery, sea & island views, hills, wildlife, beautiful pale beaches, a handful of great pubs, Castle Tioram, easily accessible from Central Scotland, and relatively little visited, despite being more scenic than the Fort William/Loch Ness/A9 tourist and hillwalker trade routes. Other faves are Barra, Orkney, Coigach, Mull. I want to go now! _________________ Visit Scotland from your armchair with

Although I haven't seen as much of it as I wanted to I must say Edinburgh and Glencoe make the top of the list. I'd love to explore the Highlands and Islands in detail. Related to Edinburgh, Glencorse Reservoir in the Pentlands is one of the most magical places I've been to _________________ Yet still my lonely spirit soars, amid the mountains and the glens / From my ancestral burial ground, I am MacIain...

I think I have to chose Aberdeenshire
Was lovely spending time just wandering freely thru the city and countryside-though I couldnt keep up with all the names of towns/villages/sites I saw-I still enjoyed very very much!!
Have to say the natural wonders up there are breath-taking!!
Aberdeen city itself was lovely-I was wandering around it for days-the one day I managed to get myself lost for 4 hours but couldnt be upset about it! was enjoying it!! Just was expected to cook dinner for my host and his friend and hadnt made my way to Sainsburys yet Luckily a petrol station attendant understood my predictament and showed me a street map -since it was the first time i had forgot to stuff mine in my pocket |

Inverness the capital of the Highlands offers the best access to the most dramatic of scenery and the west coast and islands. I love castles and have stayed in Castle Stuart - just outside Inverness, Glengarry Castle down at the bottom of Loch Ness and Tulloch Castle in Dinwall. Always looking for new and interesteding places to stay.
If anyone is intersted in more about Inverness just let me know and I can post some info for you. |

Hello pinky and welcome to the forums.
I for one would be interested to hear more since it's not a part of the world I know all too well, even though it's not all that many hours drive from where I'm situated...
