I am obviously biased cause I work for rentalo.com so it's pointless to say it is "my favourite one". It obviously is

But just a few words trying to be objective: It's a fair site where you can find budget accommodations no matter the size of your party and in virtually any place in the world. I really think it's missing from your list of family vacations rentals sites, considering that one of the most popular destinations featured there is Orlando and anything in the Disney Area.

I know what I'm talking about here

nowdays, with the internet, it's dead easy to find one searching google precisely for the town/city/region you are interested in using keywords: holiday home, vacation rental, house rentals, homestay accommodation.

As all of those listed websites are payed for by the owner of the holiday villa or by the guests so it would be always expensive than renting directly from owners advertising free, direcly on the net

Well... precisely because property owners pay to be listed in the directory is how people can be more reassured that they are not contacting a fake property. I'm not saying it can't happen, but really a lot less often than contacting someone directly from Google.

Also, if it is easy to find a vacation rental in Google, it means that that property owner has spent time and probably some money in making his property rank well. So... either way they are paying for a service before a traveler contacts them.

Another thing is that vacation rentals sites, such as rentalo.com, and I am mentioning it because I know how it works, do not charge any fee to travelers, so any price is directly the result of the negociation with the property owner. The fees for property owners at Rentalo and most vacation rental sites are just reasonable for a year or two of continous, professional advertisement, so there really isn't a reason for a property owner to charge more. Plus, when they advertise in one of these sites, they usually get a lot of bookings, and if they take advantage of all the features a site has to offer them, they usually are able to be fully booked. Again, no reason to charge more.
