Some of the best places I have visited are
Rome for its culture and beautiful sights
Naples and Sorrento
Venice because there is no place like it
New York - What more can you say?
Swiss Alps - Cabin in the woods, log fire, hot chocolate, amazing scenery. What more could you want? |

| Every time I travel to a new place it becomes one of my favorites. Still, I love Minnesota because there really is no place like home. But if when I fantasize about living in another place, it is always London. The people are wonderful and there is always something to do. |

i love canada and her people. i visited banff for a day but have to say that i think it is overated compared to Jasper and environs. jasper is closer to the icefields and has a beautiful hot springs in the middle of nowhere.
i love oahu and dont even mind the touristy stuff. the people especially the native hawaiins make up for it.
i love the great barrier reef and am going again next year.
want to explore more of california.,
and new zealand is very special the bay of islands, the fjords. _________________ Leonie

Ditto on Oahu and even the touristy. stuff. Also on Oahu, the Windward side's Malaekahana Beach for it's quiet beauty and safe, friendly campground.
.
Big Island, Hawaii for its diversity from the snow capped Mauna Kea to the lush green Hilo side to the dry side of Waimea and Kohala Coast where even cactus grows, to the turqoise reefs of Hapuna and the red sky at night near the volcano eruptions, and on and on
Kauai for its Na Pali Coast with the castle like peaks and whales and for its lushness and the miniature Grand Canyon of Waimea.
California Redwoods, Big Sur, Red Rock Canyon, Mojave Desert, Laguna Beach, and Ashland, Ore. (my current hometown). _________________ www.CoconutRoads.com/HawaiiBudgetVacation

Maui is easily my favorite vacation spot. I'd say a lot of this comes from my happy childhood memories of going there with my family, but it's one of the few places I can go and really just relax. Sitting on the beaches in south Maui is my favorite activity, but I will highly recommend the three day backpacking trip through the Haleakala crater. It's truly beyond words.
Another place that comes to mind as breathtakingly beautiful is Slovenia. I would absolutely say that the western part of the country, along the Soca River valley is my favorite. It was an LA Times travel section article back in 2000 that convinced me to go. The pictures of the turquoise blue waters against the green mountains were enough to stop me right there, though they of course do not do it justice. _________________ Brett Snyder

I found that when I started thinking about my favorite place in this world,
What came to mind was who was I there with and did I really enjoy that person's company. After saying that, I keep on going back to the same great Island in Australia called Great Keppel Island. Strange that was when I was travelling on my own.
Another Great Place is Home, Calgary, Alberta, I guess we know Trev can attest to that.

Phuket, Thailand - My heart just about broke when the tsunami came this time last year. I couldn't believe this place I associated with so much fun and freedom, not to mention great beaches, was destroyed.
Zenyomitsu-ji temple in Tokyo - This was one of the first sites I saw in Japan. I ended up coming here when I needed to feel peaceful.
Choeung Ek, Cambodia - It's depressing to know what happened there and you can't help but feel overwhelmed with the sorrow. But it's beautiful at the same time.
NYC, NY, U.S. - Still one of the best cities in the world to do whatever the heck you want.
Griffith Observatory, CA, U.S. - It's cool and I always feel like I'm in Rebel Without a Cause.
So many more ... |

My favourite place is home.
The only other city I would consider living in would be Rome.
In terms of tranquil beauty, I found the Sahara at sunset to be unbeatable. No sound, just the sight of sand just going on just about for ever and the sun sinking more quickly than it really had any right to, shading the sky with more shades of blue than i have ever seen gathered together in one place.
Well, that or the beach in Barbados at night, listening to the surf wash the shore - but that sense of tranquility as altered by alcohol at least... _________________ Luxury Travel website: Worldwide Travel Direct & Offers |

Haven't been to the GBR yet, but as a diver it's definitely high up on my list of places to go. Hopefully I'll get there in the next 5 years. _________________ Oooops! My sig doesn't comply with the rules on signature files and has been removed by a moderator

I'm a big fan of Akumal as well. I've heard it's been developed a lot since I last vistited about 6 years ago, which is too bad. I'm sure it's still amazing though. Great diving, lots of sea turtles, and the cenotes are amazing. _________________ Oooops! My sig doesn't comply with the rules on signature files and has been removed by a moderator

I'm spoiled living in Marin County, CA. Other than here, gotta say my favorite place I've been is Sevilla, Spain. Other highlights are Japan, and some parts of Mexico.
