Anyone else following the rwc?
Suspect that it is only the Brits, Aussies, Kiwis and French who remotely care about the last couple of games. And the All blacks and French can only fight over the third place title!
I've already spoken to francophiles who point out that England scored no tries. True, but with a comprehensively powerful display by a well-disciplined English pack (no sin bin yellow cards for us you'll notice!), it simply doesn't matter that all of our points were scored from the boot of Johny Wilkinson.
Bring on the Wallabies.
A solid defence (an Australian attribute) is no saviour when our Johny can hit the target, against the wind and rain, from inside his own half of the pitch.
Hope Martin Johnson's men can maintain the discipline next week. Wouldn't want to see them lower themselves to tripping Walabies up as they miss to tackle them up the touch line. Dirty play by a lucky Frenchman. Didn't help your side though, did it.
Anyone else been keeping track of the games?

In western Canada, despite the games being televised starting at 1:00am, there are many of us who do tune in. The local pubs approached the authorities for an extension of the 2:00am closing rule because there was so much interest here in Whistler. I have been wearing my All Blacks shirt for the last few weekends.
Congratulations to England!
I am almost glad it came out this way. A match between France and NZ could be a thing of beauty. What are the British odds makers saying about the finals? |

Mike -
This moring the Odds (according to William Hill - www.willhill.com) of England lifting the trophy are 4/6 against Australia's chances of 11/10.
For anyone who doesn't understand those fractions, England are the favourites.
I guess we can consider ourselves lucky here in Britain, that the earliest matches kicked off at 0730. With us being on the opposite side of the world from Australia, their evening matches are shown live here during the morning.
On a less positive note, we lost 3-2 to Denmark in a 'friendly' football match though. You can't win 'em all.

...though that's the odds from a UK bookmaker, bear in mind. Anyone know what the odds are over in Australia?
Anyway, here's hoping for Saturday... !

I have (as a Welsman) been following the RWC and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be at a loss after next weekend for something to do in the morning.
I think England will win. Their sheer determination is enough to grind any team down.
What amazes me about the game these days is down they can take those thundering hits and be fit and well to play a few days later. It is certainly a harder game now than it was in my day and it was no picnic then. If I played on a Saturday I would still be aching on a Tuesday or a Wenesday and I was in my early twenties then. _________________ David
