Thanks, Jochen... but always room for improvement. Smile I need to get in the habit of using the camera's settings more, rather than just being lazy and choosing "auto" though. That way I can cast backgrounds out of focus, etc. and bring more attention to the subject matter.

Here's some more from South Africa (eastern part like Kwazulu-Natal, Kruger, .... I'll post some shots from the west part later).

Some more, this time from the southwest of RSA...

Somewhere between Port Elizabeth and Knysna:

Outeniqua "choo choo" train Laughing :

The church of Swellendam:

The cape, "where two oceans meet"

Taken at a cheetah farm. Got to caress them. Not exactly as soft as cat hair! Laughing They purred like cats though, but then much louder.

Penguins and 25°...

My mother in law

Another day, another country. La Palma Island this time.

The caldera, protected area in the center of the island

Los Tilos, a small piece of rainforest between two cliffs. Protected area as well.

Puerto Naos, a little beach town, westside of the island

Hi Josee

You would need to upload the images to some web space first, rather than try to reference them from your hard disk. There's many places where you can do this for free (if you need pointers, just ask).

Also, don't forget you can always hit "Preview" rather than "Submit" to see if a post will work prior to it appearing on the site... Wink

OK... will try to explain in a bit more detail... first you need to get your images on to the WWW. There are a number of places you can do this. I've never used any of the following so can't vouch for them, but you might like to look:

FreePhotoPost
ImageCabin
YesAlbum
ImageHosting.us
Xs.to
The Image Bin
ImageHosterz
The File Bucket
IMG Satellite
Photo Bucket

Once you have uploaded an image, you should get a URL (Web address) that you can use to post in forums. If you're not sure what this address is, right click on the image once it's uploaded and select Properties and you should get it.

Then, once you have this URL, you just post the image using the following code:

Code:
[img]http://www.theplaceyouveuploadedto.com/thenameoftheimage.jpg[/img]

...and, all being well, your image should appear on the forum.

Failing all this, let me know if you still encounter problems and I can have you email the pictures to me and I can upload them to my web space and provide you with the URL(s).

Paul

Wow. I am floored by the amazing pics in this thread.

Here are a few of my own, from in and around St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.

How about Venezuela?

Between Mérida and Sierra Nevada:

Close to Chichiriviche somewhere

The Andes, as seen from Maracaïbo lake

Fishermen on a river near Maracaïbo lake

Sunset in the Coro desert

A huge island, part of Morrocoy NP

Mérida, Andes

Next week; some portraits and wildlife shots from Venezuela. OK? Wink

As promised some of my South Africa pics from last October.

This one is a Brown Snake Eagle

We also encountered an angry lion - or was he rather a bit disturbed in his sleep....?
