Hi there,

I know what beautiful places there are in Britain but I would very much like to know
which areas of the UK are especially beautiful in autumn. What are your experiences?
Where do you go?

I thank you for your answers

Hi there... this blog post we did a couple of years ago might be helpful. The various offers won't be the same, but it might give you some ideas:

The best places to experience the UK this Autumn

I have a thing for Dartmoor. It's just so out of the way, and in fall it is beautiful. The other one I really like is Chatsworth House, but I would think any of the old style houses like that would be excellent to see in Autumn.

I like the Aviemore area of Scotland in autumn - oh, and it's quite special if you can manage to visit the Outer Hebrides as well. .... also, Loch Lomond area ... I could go on - there are loads of lovely places to visit in the UK and even if you end up in an industrial area, you're generally only a short drive from something of historical interest or some amazing landscapes - I hope you have a lovely visit.

I lived in the UK for 15 months. I loved the weather although most English don't and talk about it all the time. There is no spot in England more beautiful in fall than the lake district in my opinion - it is north west of Manchester. Wales and the southwest of England are beautiful this time of year as well.

I don't think a trip this autumn will happen anymore but Exmoor in the southwest of England
(and it's coast) is on my priority list. The park has wooded areas as well so that should also be a good idea for a trip in autumn.

I was in Kelvingrove Park last week in Glasgow, beautiful clear blue skies and lots of autumnal colours on the trees. Perfect autumn day. The added bonus was the red sandstone of the Museum and Art Gallery glowing in the early evening sunset.

Superb

Maybe Sherwood? You always have chance to see Robin Hood in autumn background Wink

Chester is a lovely town in Autumn. It has an excellent city centre and is surrounded by beautiful countryside which looks great when the leaves are falling off in Autumn.

The Lake District is more picturesque if you are looking for countryside but I prefer it in the summer. Then it is hot enough to spend more time outdoors walking or on the lakes.
