I am planning to do an around-the-word trip by bike by the end of next year. I would love to get in contact with some people who already have done it.

I start to organize my trip now and have so many questions concerning budget, material, visa, transportation and accommodation...

If anyone is interested to help or to do the same, please send me a PM!

This might seem a silly question but when you say 'bike'... do you mean motorbike?

A friend of mine has been cycling round the world for a number of years, the other day he posted on facebook that he'd just completed 200000kms! He's on about his third bike!

Crikey... how many years has he been going?

And how does he fund it all?

Since about 1995. Not sure how he funds it tho. I'll mention this thread next time I speak to him in case he wants to share some tips.

I consider this the best thing you can do , if you have the time, energy, and money for it...

Have you checked out the cycling forums on CTC, BikeRadar and Adventure Cycling. There's lots of help and advice in there. Also try some of the blogs on crazyguyonabike, that can be a rich source of ideas and information.
