as long as youve got some money then there is nothing else you need, because you can just buy it.
but when i travel i never go without a pen (for signing stuff at the airport in customs and also signing forms on the plane -- you cant buy a pen there, and its a pain getting hold of one), and an alarm clock. because you dont want to miss your flight

Aside from the good old personal stuff like clothes and toiletries, you need a map, money, your passport, visa if needed and your identification card. It is also good to be equipped with the right knowledge about where your going to... know the country and know the rules.

A small travel pillow- the best thing ever on long train journeys and flights, worth lugging around. Wet wipes- instant clean feeling on the go!

the most essential item is [spam attempt removed - user banned]. i cannot stress that enough. if you can't walk properly, travelling will be hell. happened to me many times, and i remember the pain rather than the places. :/

Paul, deo is short-term for deodorant. Anyways, I guess I need bigger bags for all those items I will bring. I think handphone and credit card are the two most important things a traveler should bring. Your posts have been really helpful. Thanks!

Not quite.

Money are sufficient when there are available ways to spend them to fulfill our needs (shops nearby etc.)
