I know that you can travel from Malaysia to Singapore by bus and vice versa. But those are two different countries right? Because usually, we need passport or visa if we want to go to another country right?

But since you can travel from Malaysia to Singapore by bus only, does this mean that Malaysians can just freely go to Singapore whenever they want and stay there for many months if they want to?

Yes Singapore and Malaysia are 2 different countries.

As a foreigner not from either country I need a passport to enter. Besides bus service many tourists and locals also use the train. There are also private vehicles that are allowed to pass from Malaysia to Singapore.

Malaysia and Singapore are members of ASEAN. I think they can enter without a visa for 30 days.

He's right that you still need to have or bring your passport with you if you want to go to Malaysia.

Hi, i am from Malaysia, it depends on you are traveling from which part of Malaysia, traveling from Johor Bahru to Singapore will takes you less than 1 hour, from Perlis to Singapore will takes you more than 10 hours by land transport. Most of the airlines do flies to Singapore from almost all airports in malaysia. One of the famous is the budget airline airasia. Also note that you can only fly from Sabah or Sarawak to Singapore.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Simon
