But how do they taste in the cooking pot, that's what I really need to know.
Noisy, messy - and they apparently belong to someone. Someone actually chose to buy them and put them into their garden. How come they're now bothering the whole neighbourhood???
Anyway, you're right, they don't do much for a healthy sleep pattern.

peacock was the first real word my son ever said! he loved seeing them in the Shalimar gardens in Lahore, Pakistan, where they used to strut about and we'd go for somewhere to walk -....only every bird for at least a year was then called a peacock, by him - even the pigeons!

Mar let me see if I have this straight, your neighbor has shrieking wild peacocks which makes it impossible for you to sleep, which caused you to drink your ‘Scottish water’ which lead somehow to you forgetting how to spell ISLANDS!!!!!!. Uh-huh, seems a little far-fetched to me.
My advice - sit in chair and slowly sip your ’water’ then go out and put a sprinkler in your yard and one on your roof - turn on when needed - it will help.
