I once took a group of clients to somewhere in Chilean Patagonia. It was the most beautiful place, wild and expanse place I have ever been to. I would rather keep the exact location a secret!!

So you want people to share the best "wilderness" place they have ever been but you are unwilling to do the same?

For me... it would be West Greenland or the Serengeti, Tanzania.

I guess it maybe depends on where you go but it is a huge expanse covering 15,000 sq kilometres. Were we were (Grumeti), you had to fly into a small landing strip (unless you drove for days) so we were in a fairly remote location with very few people around - we were vastly outnumbered by the wildlife even though it was the tail end of the migration season.

Sounds amazing.

I lived in Mozambique for a while and it has such great potential for creating some massive reserves for protecting it's wildlife. There is not much at the minute apart from the wonderful Gorongozo and nowhere you can really see big game. Guess a lot of it was killed or poached during the Civil War there.

In my experience going around Dhaulagiri (8,167m / 7th highest mountain) was the most wild trip. We went through the remote villages and jagged mountains and to the glacial moraine at the base of Dhaulagiri. This was days away from any permanent settlements. Traversing glacier was challenging and was quite an adventure. For three days the walking was on the snow fields at 5,000m crossing passes and mountain crags. From Dhampus pass, steep downhill path leads to the valley bottom of Kaligandaki.

Since you want to know about regions, let me tell you about the Philippines. It's one big tropical rainforest. Anywhere un-urbanized (and that's still a lot of places) is full of greenery you can get lost in.

You can choose from caves, waterfalls, hills, mountains, hot and cold springs, and more. It's very peaceful, and when you're in all that luscious green, all you will hear are birds chirping and water flowing. It's amazing!

I have my own spot, I wouldn't want to tell you about myself. But if ever you come here, I'm sure you'll find your own. There's more than 7 million ha of forest out here!

Biking through Chilean Patagonia was pretty special. As was the interior of Iceland. Closer to home there's still plenty of wild spots in Northern Scotland.
