Hey all,
I am new at this forum, but I'm hoping you can help me out.
I'm thinking of heading to the Cyprus for the first time this summer. It would be me and my partner.
I guess I'm just looking for suggestions of what to do and where to go. There seems to be so much, and I don't really know much about what Cyprus has to offer and what the best places are.
I guess we would be looking to do the typical Cyprus thing (walking, beaches, traditional taverns, history and culture etc).
Accomodation is up in the air. I'll look at all options.
I'm just looking for general ideas really. What locations would you recommend I start looking at, and what are the real must-do's and must-see's of Cyprus?
Hope you can point me in some sort of direction.
Thanks!

There are many attractions in Cyprus, it is depends on where you wish to drop by, most tourists to Cyprus landed on Paphos and you need probably over 10 days to explore this city for cultural, historical, outdoor activities and etc.

I went for the first time last year. Although we enjoyed our stay, I found traditional taverns hard to come by and most of the taverns we did see were catering for holidaymakers with doner kebabs and chips which was rather disappointing. Apparently the traditional taverns do exist (alas, we didn't find them), so I'd suggest some research before you go to see what you can find...
We were just outside Larnaca, and apparently if you head for the nearby village of Oroklini (or Voroklini), there are a couple - one called Voreas and another called Grada. _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering - UK B&Bs - UK Attractions

Although I've never been to Cyprus myself, I just happen to have stumbled across an interesting article in a travel magazine the other day and I found few interesting things that might interest you.
First of all the northern part is sorta kinda still turkish and not greek, so since the captial Nicosia is on both parts, this might be especially interesting due to a huge variety of cultures in its history. The turkish have been on cyprus since 1570 I believe...
Nicosia is also very rich in art and museums, so if you're into that - check it out ^^
Oh, and Cyprus is considered to be the hottest country in all of the Mediterranean area during summer, so keep that in mind =) |
