Hello all, I'm looking for some inspiration for a blog post on Hidden Gem Hotels throughout the UK. I'm after hotels that aren't particularly widely known, tucked away in stunning locations that you might only find by accident of by referral from a friend. I'd love your suggestions please - the more quaint, romantic, quirky, beautiful and 'hidden' the better. _________________ Yorkshire Hotels | Holiday Cottages in Whitby | Travel Submit Guest Post |

Hi,
this is shamelss self promotion obviously but we are a Small City Hotel, predominantly word of mouth promoted save a few guide books and twitter. Located in a lovely corner of Hereford with walled gardens and views of The black mountains. Our customers love the Penhaligons, The piles of art books, the new art space and all the off beat unusual things that happen here.
Anyway, you appeared on our twitter so i couldnt resist a reply.

| There is a stunning luxury hotel in the heart of dartmoor called Bovey Castle... I was fortunate enough to get married there and its stunning and ideal for a break away from it all. You should definately check it out. |

Last year we stayed at the Devonshire Fell in North Yorkshire just up the road from Bolton Abbey.
It's sister hotel is the Devonshire Arms, which I think has a 1 or 2 michelin starred restaurant.
The Devonshire Fell is a bit like a big old country house converted to a hotel - really personal. French bloke on front of house was superb, really friendly and very accommodating.
The restaurant there is very good but not quite michelin starred quality, you won't be disappointed though. I had sous vide fillet of beef last year which was delicious.
I got an email last week saying the entire hotel has been redone so I'm not sure what it's like now - hopefully it won't have lost any character! We also got access to the spa at the Devonshire Arms which was a nice bonus.
We got it on a special easter deal direct from their website, think it was about £140 for one night including £50 towards a meal for two. |
