Aha... thanks, laz... I usually use Chrome where that process is made a little more cumbersome, and I also thought that the images didn't show unless you had a special link that overruled any privacy settings that you had on your account. Anyway, here goes. Here's a selection of pictures from Jura:

Our first view of Jura and the three Paps...

Taking the ferry across from Islay...

Jura has a population of less than 200 people but around 6,000 red deer. We saw these three within about 5 minutes of arriving on the island.

Our accommodation in Craighouse, complete with Archie, the resident suit of armour.

The view from the accommodation.

The only shop on the island.

Dusk

Nice Smile

And I noticed some fools swimming in the sea!

How was the whisky?

The deal was that if my sons put their shoulders under, I would do the same. One of them did and there was no way that I was going to get out on a technicality just because the youngest hadn't! I put my shoulders under and that was more than enough - no actual swimming!!! Smile

Purportedly good but I just can't seem to like it myself. I keep trying it but I just can't seem to take to it for some reason. That's probably a good thing, I suppose. Smile

We visited Oban a couple of years ago and considered a trip to Islay and Jura. Looking back I really wish we had done - but at least it's a good excuse to go back again soon! Smile

Exactly. Smile

I have to say we were exceptionally lucky with the weather. Get Scotland on a good day and it is truly something.
