Hi Buddy,

I got this information from a blog for you .. Hope this helps.. It would also helpful for the people who are waiting to see the Northern Light.

TOP RECOMMENDATIONS

Northern Lights and the Icehotel, Swedish Lapland
3/4 nights
This tantalising short break offers superb chances of witnessing the northern lights from Abisko Mountain Station, regarded as one of the best places in the world to observe this natural phenomena, due to its clear air and virtually cloud-free sky. Located in the heart of Swedish Lapland deep within the Arctic Circle you also spend 2 nights at the magnificent ICEHOTEL.

Aurora Nights, Iceland
3 nights
Based at a wonderful rural location in Iceland's South West under vast open skies it isn’t surprising that Hotel Ranga is blessed with some truly amazing displays of the northern lights during the months of September to March. On this independent short break learn about this amazing phenomenon and hopefully witness it for yourself.

Northern Lights Special, Iceland
3 nights
On this escorted short break in Iceland’s south the odds of a sighting are good with the help of a fantastic rural location and some scientific know how. Departure dates have been specially chosen to coincide with the new moon as this offers the best chance of the brightest aurora borealis.

In addition to our specialist northern lights holidays, it is possible to witness the aurora on any of our itineraries to Iceland, Greenland and Lapland during the winter months, including tailor made holidays. Therefore you can combine aurora hunting with a relaxing winter escape or a adventure filled weekend away.

Cheers
Smile

Some time ago I found a link on some Canada B&B accomodation where they claim northern lights can be seen. Wish I could find it now...
And the most hillarious is that I promised myself to go there someday but I postponed the link *sigh* Sad

I would agree that you can never guarantee seeing the Northern Lights, at least not in time to line up your transportation. But, at least in the interior of Alaska, September and March are two of the best months. The dead of winter may be darker, but there is often cloud cover then, so you cannot see anything. You might want to look at fairbanks-alaska.com/northern-lights-alaska.htm for more information.

Realize I am a little bit late to the party here, but I am hoping my comments give some reason for a little bit deeper discussion regarding the northern lights. I am actually trying to plan a vacation where I can see the northern lights in every continent. Thankfully there were some places in US that I have locked down, but I am trying to figure out Europe next. Do any of the hotels attach to the Icelandic hot springs or no? I have been talking in the US to a couple of Salt Lake City hotels who say they are expecting them to visible in Utah during the next solar storm, so I am definitely excited about that. Hopefully there is still some snow on the ground so I can go from Salt Lake City to Park City for a little skiing at The Canyons as well.

That's probably one of the best destination that someone could go. I think the budget is high for sure, but the experience cant compare.
