It's more of a preference rather than a necessity. In this modern world, most of us are surrounded by resorts so a pool wouldn't really be missed in a vacation, even when we're with our children IMO.

To be honest this would be a plus side to my family holiday as I have young children and I constantly worry! No pool would definetly put my mind at easy Very Happy

I think it is sort of essential for family to bond together on a particular day and enjoy swimming. Smile

It is true that pools add some extra worries when on vacation with children but actually I feel safe at most pools because they are always attended and there are good life-guards. I am actually more worried when the hotel doesn't offer anything in particular to entertain the children. Smile

Kids love to play and water, so i think that a hotel with a pool would be great.

Nowadays, hotels without a pool are somewhat shooting their selves in their proverbial feet.

It is ridiculously cheap (by business standards) to install a pool, and the returns are obvious for any tourist business.

It is beyond me why some hotels and resorts don't have at least one pool.
