While we were travelling around China we had some amazing food. We had Peking Duck in Beijing and you are right, it should not be missed.

We also had "Hot Pot" in the Sichuan Province, in Chengu Du. You usually have two big pots on the table with gas burners underneath, one pot spicey fat, the other boiled water. Then you add as many ingredients as you want and cook them at the table. It's certainly an experience especially when they put a whole chicken in!

While in Guangzhou we visited the Qing Ping Market which had numerous creatures being sold for food. I took this one picture of a guy preparing snakes to sell. People were buying these by the bag full. I later ate some and thought the taste and texture to be much like eel.

I like to try foreign food, & generally don't mind being a bit adventurous, but those starfish? Shocked erm, I think I'd probably pass on them! (For a start how do you get into them?) Laughing

I was always curious, are those specific chinese dishes an everyday food, or are they only on occasions, such as tourists, holidays, gatherings etc?
