|
|
I am sorry, this must have been done many times before but can't seem to find a suitable thread.
What are the best sites for searching for cheap flights?
I am looking to fly into Melbourne in January from Europe and then on to Cape Town before flying back to Europe.
I did have a few sites in my favourites but ny pc died and took them with it so I am starting from scratch again.
Thanks in advance for any replies _________________ http://www.charmingvillas.net/

You may want to check out passes or round-the-world tickets by one of the three airline alliances. I'm not sure if they force a one direction of travel approach (in which case you would have to go to Cape Town first), or allow you just to have a certain number of flight segments.
One world has a three countinent circle explorer ticket starting at 2049 euro. SkyTeam and Star Alliance also have options. Spend some time on those three sites to see if they'll work for you. They may not be the best prices necessarily, but they may offer some flexibility that you may want. _________________ My flight map. In my opinion, you must search on flight comparison websites to find cheap flights or you might take help of a local travel agent.
On Friday and weekends the airfare will be high in comparison of weekdays.
So try to book your air ticket for weekdays. |

Round the world or Triangular fares will be the best option for you. Oneworld and Star Aliance will be the best for this fare. _________________ Making Holiday dreams...a Reality!! |

Be careful many sites claiming to compare flights are actually brokers who quote you a price with their own commission added. I like flight comparison search engines that don't add anything to the airline/travel price and for the flight you select allow you to click through to the booking page of the website of the actual airline or company providing the flight to book. Our article on finding travel deals (see website below) lists major comparison sites with pros and cons of each.
It is also worthwhile checking out Charter flight sites which offer surplus seats on "package holiday" planes - good for late bookings to popular tourist destinations. (see same article) _________________ Inblighty.Com: Impartial travel articles, guidebooks & maps.

You will probably find a lot of sites offering the same flights so what you need to do is check the cancellation policies and customer feedback _________________ If your looking cheap Gatwick airport parking, Manchester airport parking or parking at any other Uk airport visit Flypark |

It depends on your country.. You should google this and find it.. I believe you can ask the government too, they give such information
Usually cheap tickets are tickets which you pay months before your fight. _________________ Buy Foreign Currency |

I agree, my opinion is that to get the best deal you need to book as early as you can. The closer it gets to the date of travel the more expensive it'll be as there will be less places available. Last minute deals can result in cheap prices but that's not always possible for everyone. Picking a specific time of year (e.g. outside of school holidays, public holidays) will mean getting less expensive prices as well. Has anyone managed to get a really good deal on this year's holiday?
