Hi
I'm off to Thailand soon with my Partner, who seems to be very well liked by the mosquitos there...
On a previous trip she had over 100 bites, many of which became infected.
I always covered her head to toe in Mosquito Repllent with High DEET content and she kept covered up in the evenings, but this never seemed to help that much.
My question is this, can anyone offer advice on additional precautions to take to help prevent the same thing happening again?
I have heard that Yeast or Vitimin B tablets work, but we have not tried these yet.
Many Thanks

Too late for this poster I think but eating marmite before you go and whilst you're away is supposed to work. _________________ (\__/) Chinese Proverb - He who asks a question is a fool for a minute; he who does not remains a fool forever.

There has been a whole thread on here somewhere on exactly that subject ,so if you have a poke around you might find it..Vitamin B1 is the one they hate...and lemons and Marmite .infact I sometimes feel the more deet you use the more of a target you are..have a look for the thread as there is alot on it .. |

It's very easy to make your own natural mosquito repellent. These natural products will effectively repel mosquitoes, but they require more frequent reapplication (at least every 2 hours) and higher concentrations than DEET. Because of the differences between types of mosquitoes, products that contain multiple repellents tend to be more effective than those containing a single ingredient. As you can see, natural repellents tend to be volatile plant oils. _________________ sumvision cyclone |
