|

Most people who've posted here have talked about traveling with kids, so I'm not sure if traveling with seniors would fit into this forum, but I guess I'll give it a try.
Anyway, my grandfather is about 85 years old. My cousins and I want to all pitch in to take him on a vacation to somewhere suitable for traveling seniors. He is in good health condition for his age. He loves to travel and thinks he can still be active and he doesn't listen to his body when it tells him to rest. He really likes to eat, enjoys swimming, likes museums, and likes musicals and entertainment. Maybe a resort someplace warm but not too hot?
Does anyone have any good suggestions on where to take my grandpa? _________________ Evaluate It Discount Travel Program

if he likes museums, musicals and entertainment, maybe he'd enjoy a city getaway for at least part of the time. London, Paris, New York and just about every other major city can be a chance for him to spend times in museums that interest him, or historic sites.
Why not ask him where he'd like to go. _________________ My flight map. A million miles and counting....Where I’ve been around the globe. |

We want it to be a surprise for him. He can leave any time for a trip so it's not like we have to give him prior notice. London sounds good. I think he'd enjoy authentic English afternoon tea. _________________ Evaluate It Discount Travel Program

I think London and Paris are great suggestions. I know this might sound typical, but what about Hawaii? _________________ cheap airline tickets |

i think seniors would love to see things from the past or things from "their time" so museums are great places..i love listening to stories of elder people, they're full of wisdom and know so much about life.
they would also enjoy nature.. just avoid busy and noisy places.. _________________ outer banks vacation rentals |

I once had a friend over here in SA from St.Louis - US. I booked a couple of days in the Kruger National Park and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We viewed the Big 5 in a matter of tw days and spent most of the time traversing the park looking for interesting happenings. We even viewed a Lion killing a Buffalo.
What was hard was that this guy in his early 70's had to make a pit stop every 30 minutes or so due to old age prostate issues. His bladder could not hold linger that 30 minutes. Now imagine having to stop on the roadside with Lions and other dangerous game in the area. Not Nice and against Park rules - What to do? _________________ http://www.home-x-change.com |

Well, if he is interested in musicals, a visit to the Sydney Opera House would be a good idea. There would also be other interesting things for him to see in Australia. However, be warned as the country's climate might not what you wanted. _________________ Australian Visa Assistance - PrincipalVisas.Com |
