Hi

Yes, I did try out the skiing. You can read all about it on this site http://www.skidxb.com/English/default.aspx . We paid 190 AED for 2 hours of skiing - about 50 USD. I have posted a movie that I took in this blog http://gardmobile.blogspot.com/2009/05/skiing-in-dubai.html

50 USD ? Hmm, so equivalent to RM150-RM200.

The price is not bad. Thanks for the link.

Gard - I look forward to reading your report - You give good reports with little bias!

Thanks Smile I'll do my best on the trip report Smile

Yeah, 50 USD was not bad as we got the skis, clothing, unlimited access to the chair lift etc. So I thought it was great fun...although quite surreal Wink

I think that Dubai is good for a short break but the kids start getting bored if we stay for too long, water parks are good for a day but not for longer. Normaly we stay at the Jumierah beach hotel which gives you free entrance to the wild waddy. A good water park the other side of Ajman if you are up for a bit of a drive and a change of scenary.
From Europe can be a bit far to travel ffor a short break.

pattierosie - I've stayed at Burj Al Arab, and been there many times. It can be expensive, but if you time it right and enquire early you can get deals to stay there and you can also book to have brunch or drinks in the skyview bar on 27th floor. The floors are all double height, and to my knowledge it's still the tallest "hotel" in the world. Probably not the sort of place to take children since it's 7 star, just bear that in mind.
