1. The Post Ranch Inn, Big Sur, CA.
For being above the clouds (feels like living in an airplane), the setting, the architecture and the crazy level of service.

2. Grand Hôtel, Stockholm, Sweden.
For the fantastic new spa, the view of the Royal Castle and the extremely professional yet friendly staff.

3. Ngorongoro Crater Lodge, Tanzania.
It's constantly rated in the very top of all surveys for location. There's a reason for that. Your own personal butler and the superb staff adds up to it. And then I haven't even mentioned that you'll get some of the world's most outstanding game viewing on the crater floor a few hundred meters below.

All these places are reviewed on my little site (with pics and all – see link in the signature).

Best,

Clarendon Square is the most fabulous property I have ever seen. this b&b embodies modern luxury, but the comfort & personal qualities are not sacrificed like you might experience in a larger hotel. have the feeling of a boston bed and breakfast with all the amenities of a luxury hotel, i think clarendon square is a winner.

CMH Bugaboo Lodge. It's not so much about the lodge, although it is wonderful. It's about the seclusion, the comraderie and the scenery and feeling of being a magical place. It's helicopter access only, accommodates only 44 people and sits below the majestic Bugaboo Spires. It's a place that puts everything in perspective. Oh, and I forgot to mention the gourmet cuisine, the stellar wine list, the roof-top hot tub with the view of the surrounding peaks, the heated floors in the bathroom, the cozy down-duvets, the fireplace in the living room....ahh, it is a magical place. The staff are exceptional and you feel like you are at home from the moment you walk in the door. it's the kind of place where you leave your camera on the coffee table in the entrance way and know it will be there 3 hrs later. That is a luxury.

For me, it would be the 4 Seasons Langkawi, Malaysia. Nothing to shout about but I have seen much better places that I would be planning to stay.

The most luxurious place I have stayed is the Moon Palace in Cancun. Although it was quite a way out of the resort, it was right next to the beach. There is not alot to do at the complex, but if it is complete relaxation you are after this is ideal.

Another hotel which is known for its luxury, both in terms of its accommodation, facilities and cuisine is the Abama Golf & Spa Resort in Guia de Isora, Tenerife ... a favourite with many celebrities.

Lime Tree Bay resort in Long keys, Florida keys!! I love this place and the best part of this resort is you can take your pets with you because they have pet friendly condos. Smile

The most faboulous place (and the most luxurious by my standard) is TagoMago Island, just by Ibiza. A private island in the Mediterranean

St Bart's is the most luxurious place I've visited - the island is so intimate and it’s the perfect blend of barefoot luxury with a splash of glamour! Eden Rock Hotel is my favourite hotel on the island.
