Hi
I going to Thailand dfor a holiday for a couple of weeks but have already spent a couple of months there before and was thinking of taking a flight to either Vietnam or Cambodia. Could anybody tell me which one as the nicest beaches and which beaches other people who have already traveled there can reccommend.
Thanks |

I think you will find the Beaches better in Thailand. I would enjoy the Thai beaches and beach culture, and go to Vietnam, or Cambodia more for the cultural experience. Both countries have incredible ancient and modern history stories. Definitely visit one or both. _________________ Asia Travel Guide!

There are so many great Beaches in Vietnam, from the Island of Pho Quoc then on the mainland all the way up the coast.
For a populated town beach its hard to beat Nha Trang, I absolutely love the drive from Cam Ranh Airport up to Nha Trang once the road hits the coast the view of the beach is absolutely spectacular. Each time I take the trip I always wonder the number of unspoiled beaches there must along the just this coastline, I have always wanted to stop and do a bit more exploring but I am nearly always on a tight deadline. _________________ Ben Hoffman

Vietnam - New horizon in Asia with a lot of beautiful landscapes and private long beaches, and unique stylish resorts . You will be greeted by impressive & friendly smile around our country.
Here are the "can’t be missed" destinations:
Cat Ba Island
Located at 170 km east of Hanoi, Cat Ba is considered a beautiful wonder on earth and recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There you can see a spectacular array of sea and islands scenery. Completely relax but optional tours to explore the town available.
Getaway at secluded Van Chai (Fishing village)
Tired with Hanoi hustle and bustle, toward the south to Ninh Binh, you can take a leisure boat tour on a peaceful river which is named as Halong Bay on Land. You should visit Hoa Lu Citadel, relax in boat to Tam Coc, travel some Sam Son highlights, and enjoy the private beach, the local and peaceful scenery.
Nha Trang relaxation and exploration
Among destinations over Vietnam, Nha Trang is always one of the most wanted selections with beautiful beaches. There, you can visit fishing village, do a lot of activities available such as water sports, snorkeling, boating, and diving.
Besides, you can relax with spa treatment, sunbath on the beach.

Whale island resort is the perfect spot for either relaxation or water activities: surfing, sailing, kayaking.
Phan Thiet - With white sand beaches
Where now is becoming a very popular destination for both local and oversea tourists thanks to beautiful stretches of beaches lined with swaying palm trees and “Sahara” vast red sand dunes.

I agree stay in Thailand for the beaches, which on the west coast in particular are simply stunning.
Travel to Cambodia or Vietnam for the culture and wonderful people. Don't get me wrong the beaches in Vietnam etc are great....I particularly loved Nha Trang, but the countries have so much more to offer and it would be a shame to visit either of them just for the beach.
An easy couple of days from Thailand is Siem Reap in Cambodia which has the most amazing Angkor Wat....really worth a visit!
Have a great trip! _________________ Darren

Hi there,
Phu Quoc called the Emerald Island , that's beautiful , natural environment and less touristy than other destinations.
Trips to Phu Quoc can be made all year round, but the best time is dry season when the sky is always sunny, clear and blue.
In there, you can do picnics, paddling, snorkeling or fishing, lying on beaches. I loved it. _________________ Van Cao

Hi,
I have travelled through Vietnam and Cambodia. The best beaches (in my opinion!) are at Danang in Vietnam. |

I definitely prefer the quiet beaches, compared to the tourist ones...I loved Vietnam, but found there were too many tourists, I hate hanging out with all these unwanted gold diggers, behaving so rudely to the locals and ignoring all the local customs.

I guess it depends what you are after, but in general I would say Vietnam wins quite easily!
The only really "developed" place in Cambodia is Sihanoukville, and the beaches there are nothing special - in fact they are quite narrow and not particularly beautiful (in the way Thai and Vietnamese beaches can be). It's a good back-packer place to relax for a few days, though, and has the advantage of being fairly quiet!
In Vietnam, you are spoilt for choice pretty much all the way down the country, with the advantage that the monsoon hits different parts of the country at different times, so you can almost always find a beach where you will get uninterrupted sunshine throughout the day _________________ Track your Euros here

I have been around both Vietnam and Cambodia and I found the central coast of Vietnam is the best. Forget about Nhatrang or Sihanoukville, just try to go to Mui Ne or glitering beaches in Doc Let, or Dam mon. Unfortunately (and luckily) not many tourists have been through. However it will change quickly. Some member just mentioned about Catba island. When the first tourist went to 15 year ago, it was a nice fishing village. See what it turn into nowadays, A small town of Hongkong !
Visit Vietnam as you can, before anything change.
I feel lucky _________________ Niche Travel Vietnam

I think Vietnam is a better destination than any thing else. But you must take your own decision as you are going not I. _________________ {Sig removed, ISP notified and user banned. Anyone else considering spamming this place, take note...} |
