Please check out the discussions about great island destinations via links.

Overall, I like Fiji the best! Fiji is comprised of truly secluded islands that are surrounded by crystal-clear blue ocean, and people there speak English. I look at photos of Fiji islands and compare them to, for example, Bora Bora. Yasawa Islands have some beautiful beaches.

Please post your experience of when you traveled to Fiji. Activities on and around the island is important for this should be a personal lifetime adventure. When is the perfect time to enjoy its ocean (beach, underwater, adventure)? Which island resort and travel process (flights)?

My second trip to Fiji is coming up in October -- actually this one is a 5 Day Stopover on my way to Melbourne... It was an additional $150 to stop and it seemed like a great deal.

I stayed with a companion at Vuda Point the first time (Sept/Oct 2006) and did a few day trips, and decided to stay 'out' the next time I was fortunate enough to be in the neighbourhood.. this time I will stay either on Mana Island or Niviti Island, depends on an invitation extended to a companion -- if I am solo I will use backpackers / flashpackers accoms, if I have company we will spring for something a little more posh.

I am looking forward to it ~ it was cane harvest in 2006 so I suspect it will be almost done this time. The cane trucks were a pain be end up behind on the motorways: slow going, things falling off the truck, etc... but it was fun to see.

Cheers!

HI again YYC woman,

We discussed Fiji back in May, I have now made my plans. I see we will missed each other . I will only make it in November.
Will stay in Nadi only 1 night , from there I will be taking the Yasawa flyer to Waya and
Nacula in the Yasawa group of Islands.

If you get a chance to sent a post from FIji while your there or shortly after, It would be interesting to get more feedback on NADI.
I was thinking of staying at smugglers cove for the one night in Nadi.
I arrive aroung 2 pm, I would like to stay close enought to town so I can go back after settling in.
Is the Nomads that you mention earlier close to town?

Josee
