There is a long list of beaches in Italy also: in Tuscany you have Elba island, Giglio island with Campese and L'Arenella beaches, Calagalera beach on the coast with Porto Ercole (wonderful). In Latium (the Roman region) you have Santa Severa beach, Sperlonga, Ponza island with little beaches reachable only by boat.

In Campania you have Palinuro, Capri island (on the other side of the island, not the touristic side). In Calabria you have Dino island and Pizzo Calabro beaches on the Tirrenian Sea, and Bosa Marina and many other beaches on the Ionian Sea. In Puglia you have Ugento and Santa Maria di Leuca on the Ionian side and Gallipoli on the Tirrenian side with wonderful beaches too.
In Sicily you have a TON of "caribbean" beaches: Capo d'Orlando, Aci Trezza, Terrasini on the Tirrenian side, Taormina and Marina di Porto Palo on the Sicilia channel. You have also the beaches of Ustica, Favignana, Levanto, Linosa and Lampedusa islands. You have also all the Sardinia island coast with thousands of beaches. And last but not least, Portofino and Porto Venere in Liguria.
It's up to you.....

El sardinero is a nice beach. Its very popular beach of Santander in spain. There is a special area set aside for volley ball and beach tennis. The sand is cleaned every day and there are bins for your use. The beach is equipped with all types of services and facilities, it also has a wide promenade that runs the length of the beaches in the area. There is a wide selection of hotels choose from. A big park lies between this beach and the Concha. Very beautiful beach.

jayson: if all you are going to do is cut and paste items from other boards, don't bother posting at all...it just gives the appearance that you're only trying to get your signature file seen....and I will disable it on any post that appears to be a cut and paste job....and if I or any of the other moderators get tired of doing that, you'll be banned.

I love strolling in the beach and I love the clean and quite one. And I think Biaritz Beach and Tarifa are one of the top ten European beaches in the world . The Biarritz Beach, located in France, definitely deserves the first position in the list of top ten beaches in Europe. And Tarifa, Spain is also one of the most beautiful beach in Europe.

Biarritz is a good beach, I agree, but you have also to consider that water is a bit cooler than the Mediterranean one while it faces the Atlantic side (more open, more cold streams).

The Sicily island is the perfect place to find beautiful beaches and warm waters to swim. If you think to go on holiday in the south of Italy, then the Sicilian island is what you need...let's examine 9 great reasons

There are different type of beaches in Sicily, the oriental coast in characterized by Reefs and sable beaches, the south coast is full undiscovered by the mass tourism and the north-west coasts are little more crowded and well known for sport and summer events.

Beach n° 1 - Mondello
Mondello is one of the well known summer place of Sicily, it's close to Palermo the capital of Sicily. On the beach there is an ancient fishermen village famous for its sport events. It's full of good, restaurants and bars.

Beach n° 2 - Taormina
Called the "Pearl of the Mediterranean", the Taormina's beach (Mazzarò), is the best summer resort of the south of Italy. Here there are beautiful sea caves (Grotta Azurra) and marine oasis like the "Isola Bella", a little island linked to the land by a little sand strip.

In Ischia island (Campania, one of the three islands in the Bay of Naples) there was part of the hill coming down to the port causing a 17 years old girl victim, due to the endless rain during one week. Not sure it will be in good shape for spring - summer 2010.... I hope...

Blue Lagoon in Malta is worth considering too. Crystal clear blue water, surrounded by impressive natural landscape.

I like spanish costa brava. For the best beaches you need to use a boat, there are very beautifull small and quiet beaches.

Hi all,
I am sorry that Halong is not a beach but it would be the most wanted place you should go. Thanks.

In my opinion a great beach is Maspalomas beach in Gran Canaria, Canary Islands. It has lovely white sand backed by sculpted sand dunes and set along lovely blue waters. But be careful, as soon as the sunbeds are out, so are the tourists, so it can become very busy!
