It is often reported that the cold snap is sweeping the whole Europe. I just want to know how cold it is and how heavy people's life be influenced.
Thank you!

Moved to correct forum (England isn't in Eastern Europe).

And yes, it is cold. Trev's car recorded -13 deg C yesterday morning.

Plus see this pic I posted yesterday:

Where I am, we've had a covering of snow on the ground since before Christmas. Usually it would only last a few days before thawing but with temperatures rarely getting above freezing during the daytime, it looks like it could be here to stay for a bit longer yet.

As much as I like that picture. I am unsure whether it conveys the true message of how 'snowy' Britain currently is...

Damn if I look out of my office window there is just a brown sludge on the floor as usual...

hehe Razz

All you need is a good wide angle lens (or the ability to hotlink to the BBC).

It's been freezing here and it snowed again heavily last night and we coul dbe in Siberia. I am in Cardiff, Wales right now and as I look outside, everything is white.

Looks beautiful though and it has meant some good snow ball fights and time off work. Overall its been a good experience.

i remember seeing that pic on the news, quite impressive. wonder if it is available as a poster?
i've seen on the news today that we could have some more snow before the week is out. and i'm starting to get a bit bored of it.
but i'm getting sidetracked, to answer the OP, the weather in england is never extreme. not to the degree of other nations. but it can be cold emough

I've heard this as well cheap1, apparently even though we have just entered British Summer Time, it's meant to start snowing today! We wouldn't be British if we didn't moan about the weather though. It makes you want to get away somewhere hot and sunny where they have 300 days of sunshine! Claire

well, I can tell you for free that I'm flippin' freezin' at the moment (especially as I can't get the heating to work...)

Was on holiday in Spain last week, and it was fantastic - probably low-to-mid 20s Celsius most days. Then arrived into NCL last night around midnight and the car was showing zero degrees...! Sad

Thank goodness the weather has improved - yesterday was a stunning day; sunny, warm and with a breeze to take the edge off the heat.

This place, just along the road from our own shop, is going to look really sunny all the time!

Today, of course, the rain is here - but there are hopeful signs that we're going to see the sun again this afternoon.
