Hi
I am going on a road trip in June and will be passing through Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic. I have been to Prague and the surrounding area several times which I really enjoyed.
Can anyone recommend any other decent places in these countries? Anywhere with good scenary, architecture, history etc would be great.
I look forward to hearing.
Thanks a lot

Bratislava is always lovely, you should definitely spend a day or two there. _________________ What Digital Camera | Cameras For Men |

In Hungary I would recommend Budapest as a place with great architecture and history. There are plenty of museums, buildings, historical places to see, and for those who like such subjects it is easy to use days and weeks in Budapest.
Outside Budapest Lake Balaton can always be interesting, Szeged in the south is a real cosy city, though not a magnet for tourists as it is not to interesting. Sopron on the border to Austria has an old town, but it is quite easy to go through it and it is not interesting for more than half a day or so! Eger has a castle which they tell great stories about (fighting the Turks in the 16th century), and they also have a valley were they have big wine production!
Hope this can help you some!! _________________ TravelBoyBudapest

if your going to the Czech Republic be sure to go completely off the track and visit a place called Dećin. I've now been there quite a few times and know a few locals too! Its a top place to visit with a hostel accross the road from the railway station. But to make this place even better is the fantastic views from the top of a mountain called Pravcická Brána. One word and thats BEAUTIFUL! You can read a review of this area on http://www.backpackingescort.net/decinczechrepublic.html

Brno is really not worth visiting! I've been many times and i truely dont think its worth the stop over! The beer is cheaper there than in Prague and if there is a race meeting on then thats good but no other reason for going!
Plzen on the other hand is worth the visit if not only for the brewery tour itself! I spent a full day there just drinking! its fantastic! The unpasturised beer is great!!! _________________ Free information on travel and backpacking, tips and tricks of the trade, useful links and inspiring photos!

If you visit Budapest, it is also worth checking the Danube bend. You can do it in a one way trip visiting Esztergom (Castle and Basilica overlooking the Danube), Visegrad (Royal Palace and hilltop castle) and Szentendre (picturesque small town on the riverbank). _________________ Oooops! I would suggest u visit the Buda Hills in Budapest with its very scenic views and unique features e.g. CHildren's railway and Chairlift (see my blog in sig for some pictures of these interesting sights)
From Prague, 3-4 hours away, Cesky Krumlov is another beautiful city to visit - a good place to soak in the medieval atmosphere _________________ Sharing my travel experiences, reviews around the world at the Best Travel Blog PassportChop.com. Contact me to share yours too..

| Cyprus has undergone significant modernization following its entry into the European Union. A modern country with an ancient history prague.biz , its stone villages, glitzy resorts, scented citrus groves and perfumed mountains are waiting to be discovered. |

Bratislava is the place where everyone goes because it is the capital city, but if you want scenery go somewhere else like High Tatras if you like mountains. Or you could wisit some of the preserved villages as for example Vlkolinec where you will see exactly how it was 100 years ago nice scenery, wooden houses and everything else.... _________________ Luxury flights - fly in style |
