|
|
This summer, I'm planning to travel around central/eastern europe. I would be very grateful if anyone could offer me suggestions or 'must-see' places. Any tips or advice would also be greatly appreciated.
I would like to see Prague, Poland and Germany - budget permitting. As a student, I would like to keep the costs relativley low lol.
Thanks, Steven |

Wroclaw, Lubin, Cesky Krumlov, Prauge, Berlin, Munich are recommended places to visit in Poland, Czech and Germany. As Berlin is closer to Poland & Prague you can choose Berlin as centre point.
As regards to budget accommodations, you can stay in youth hostels are check my signature for budget accommodations (hotels and hostels). _________________ Visit http://www.hoteldealsite.com to Compare Hotel Prices from Top Hotel Sites |

the big german cities (munich, berlin) are quite expensive, hostels are around 20-25 euros/night. places to see? hm, stick to the big cities and capitals. prague is quite nice but i havent been there since 10 years
if you like mountains, nature, friendly locals and budget accommodation then try out the tatra mountains in slovakia, close to the polish border.
(google maps)
there are lots of guesthouses in this area, and you can climb mountains all the day. think i spent some holidays in strbske pleso (no typo, just damm hard to spell names) with my parents when i was a kid.
there are also lots of castles around in this area (if youre into history and museums) and Krakow is just 100km away.
prices and beer is usually pretty good in this area because there are much less visitors than in berlin, london or paris, however you should check the transport in that area before you go. im sure they have a bus or train connection to the next big city, but probably not every hour... _________________ get around cheap: Backpacker carpools & road trips |

Although it's not on your list, you could base yourself in Bratislava. Relatively cheap, and near to many of the places worth seeing: Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Krakow. It's also not too difficult to get from there to other cities such as Salzburg, Dresden, and Munich _________________ Track your Euros here

| Well, the best thing you can do is to book in advance to the hotel in where you wanted to stay. Always remember that the more often you are in larger cities, the easier it will be to get by with English. The further into rural areas you get, the more difficult it will get. But most travelers have no problems getting by using hand gestures and such. |

well I would reccomend you to get an Eurorail pass and then you can travel in nearly every European Country. Just make sure not to travel in the main season to keep costs low.
There are some more places to visit in Germany, Poland and Czech, if interested check Traveling Europe (signature) for more information about the country _________________ Traveling-Europe.info |Hotels in Edinburgh |

Completely agree with Cesky Krumlov - a bit of a hidden gem in the Czech Republic. Me and some friends went rafting down the river there which was great fun, and the food is fantastic for the prices it is...not sure how prices might have changed as it's 5 years since I went, but if it's anything like when I went it will be amazing.
I would also recommend, Ljubjana (and Lake Bled), Budapest and Vienna, which doesn't have to be as expensive as it sounds.
A Eurorail pass is most probably your best bet, but it's worth checking out individual fares a comparison. _________________ Check out this Holiday Homes site for some amazing properties! |

Czech Republic and Poland, as well as Baltic states would be perfect destinations for budget travelling. _________________ car hire Prague | car hire Oslo | car hire Rome |
