Hi,

Where should fan of art go in London? I mean which gallery, which museum i need to see to have the feeling that i've seen what was really worthseeing?
I know that you will write: go to national museum. Ok, but what else?
I know that you know other interesting places.

Please, help Smile

Madam Ts is a good place to go to see the wax statues - The British Museum is also worth a trip!

Okay - here are some of my favorites. They are going to be varied, since you didn't specify what type of art you enjoy.

~ National Gallery - my must see every time I'm in London
~ National Portrait Gallery - right next door, and a fun visual walk through history
~ British Library - their display room has some gorgeous treasures, including pages from da Vinci's notebooks
~ Tate Modern - if nothing else, go for the spectacular space
~ Victoria and Albert - a visual feast! My favorite is the cast room, must be seen to be believed
~ British Museum - second this - you can spend your entire trip wandering through here!

You are really spoilt for choice in London. Hope this helps, and enjoy your trip!

I can never understand why people enjoy madame tussauds so much, I just can't see the appeal. I bet you can easily find out the popular bars and clubs where the celebs hangout and loiter around there to see celebs in the flesh...

I would say if you're going to see waxworks go to the London Dungeon instead, far more interesting.

The museum of london is pretty interesting, and obviously unique to london.

I'm with Robert with regard to Madame Tussaud's. I just don't understand the appeal.

For kids, or anyone interested in transportation, the London Transport Museum in Covent Gardens is a favorite of mine.

My two favourite museums in London are the British Museum and the Transport Museum.

The transport museum is a great cultural insight into London's past whilst the British Museum is simply an amazing collection of art.

While you're at the Barbican look out for one of the best preserved bits of the Roman Wall.

i was at the victoria and albert museum only a couple of weeks ago. it was amazing there so much to see, and it was a lot bigger than i was expecting.
i was impressed by the cafe of all things. i could of spent all day looking at that

If anyone has been in London so I would like to suggest the museum of Madame Tussauds. You can see lots of wax sculptures especially all famous celebrities and you can’t believe it really seems likes human being.

I would have to agree with robertb, the London Dungeons are definately worth seeing! The place is set in the olden days of London, and really show you just how gruesome some of the diseases were, how people were tortured and the kind of medicines that were used. Throught the tour, you are taken through a mirrored maze, put on trial in the docks, shown the different types of instruments used for torturing people [!], taken for a boat ride to be hanged and can go through the famous Ten Bells Pub, where Jack the Ripper stalked his prey. It is a fantastic day out, although sometimes jumpy and unprodictable. And for those who do not like the spotlight, make sure you hide at the back of the tour group, because you will get picked on! Embarassed

without question the best thing to do is natural history museum and then science museum. They are next door to each other and the kids will love it. Also its free like most of london attractions.
