It is wonderful to travel in Osaka. Besides, in Japan, there are some hotels with hot spring, which are really fascinating. _________________ http://www.chinahotels.hk |

According to the famous food critic Jeffrey Steingarten, Kyoto has the best food in Japan.
He points out the Takashimaya and Daimaru department stores as having basements with wonderful displays of foods and food products. (In 1991, Daimaru had a cafe and bakery run by Paul Bocuse. I don't know if that is still true.)
Also there is the market street of Nishikikoji selling raw and cooked foods and "more fish than in an average-sized ocean."
I've been reading his book, "The Man Who Ate Everything." It is very funny and has lots of good information in many food-related categories.
Can anyone who lives there or has been there comment on the food in Kyoto? _________________ Lee's Travel Guide

Hmmm, I think missing out on Tokyo would not be a good idea. I realize there are only 5 days, but going to Tokyo is just one of those things you have to do when you visit Japan. And in the Tokyo area, there are also beautiful areas in the countryside to visit. You can go to Takao san, Nikko, Kamakura, Izu, etc. And as for food, the best food that I have ever had in Japan is Kagoshima's food in Kyushu. Sooooo good. Black pig shabu shabu and kyushu ramen can't be beat. _________________ miami hotel deals |
