Get close with nature through Cairns campervan connecting the points of Kuranda, Mareeba, Atherton, Ravenshoe, Innot hot springs, and finally Mount Garnet.

This is a 193 Km trip beginning in Cairns leading first to Kuranda, one of the visitor magnet because of its scenic train and the Skyrail Cableway. Cairns is resided mostly by people who are into an alternative lifestyle. More on exploration rather than business. One activity to take advantage in Kuranda is shopping during its market days ( wednesdays - fridays, and sundays) stalls sell aboriginal artifacts ( a perfect souvenir). Continue your way to Mareeba, and spot a place for your campervan around Lake Tinaroo. Atherton features Tablelands, that has all the facilities (mini shopping, supermarkets, accommodations, dining, etc) Tablelands has pretty rainforests, national parks, rivers, this must be the highlight of your trip. you can have your fuels recharge from here, and buy fruits and vegies.

Ravenshoe, is a pretty 900 meters or so above sea level (that's high) There are waterfalls to explore here.

Inno hot springs is the place if your vehicle messed up, machine or repair shop ( they should be open til midnight). Enjoy a relaxing soak at the thermal spring-fed pool spas (wow). Finally making it to Mount Garnet (or you can also head to Mt Surprise if you find the road conditions friendly), Mount Garnet your place to relax, enjoy nature and nice temperature. there's some caravan park here and friendly people.

Just came back from Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands ... amazing country!

BTW, did you hear about the two prawns that were heading for Townsville?
They ended up in Cairns!

I've been up there before and have always been blown away by the sheer scale of everything.
