It's a desert, but what a desert! A rather flat desert floor surrounded by towering spires and odd looking rock formations. The light at sunset and sunrise will help any slacker photo-tourist to get into Japanese multi-exposure shutter mode.

There are a few bedouine camps where you can spend the night. I stayed at the Sunset Camp run by Mohammed Sabah Al-Zalabeh.

For some pictures and contact info to Mohammed, click here:

I also agree with other forum members that Egypt is such a beautiful and historical country in Middle East I really love to go there. Its places attract me to visit again and again. Last year I visited there with family and truly enjoyed over there.

I think the best places to visit in middle east is in Egypt. The places are Sharam Al Sheikh, Nile River Coast, Cairo, Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx, and many attractive places are there. Egypt is a paradice for enjoying holidays.

I guess I should say Abu Dhabi since that is what my site is on! What is so absolutely incredible about Abu Dhabi is the fact that it has transformed from a Bedouin existence to the richest city in the world in just over 50 years - and more is to come. Abu Dhabi is setting itself to be one of if not the leading tourist destination in the Middle East.

I absolutely loved Jordan. I would really like to go back there. Petra is absolutely fabulous.

Oman it has a really nice feel to it. Wandering around the silver souk in Muscat is like stepping back in time. We also had a great time watching dolphins swimming alongside our dhow boat.

The Lebanese were so friendly towards us when we were there. Kids learnt to ski there and they have beautiful memories of how friendly everyone was. When we were there Beirut was just being built back to its former glory. Sadly however things have taken a turn for the worse. I worry about all the nice people we met there.

Egypt, well its pretty hard not to be impressed by everything that Egypt has to offer. What spoilt it for me were the crowds of tourists - of which I was one I know! Somewhere else I will go back to one day, but I'll have to find which day no-one else is going!

I guess I should mention Morocco - I don't know much about it yet, but I'm going to live there in two months time so watch this space!

wow you are so familiar with those cities
you must have been there before! Razz
Abu Dhabi has another new attaction now
that is Capital Gate building in Abu Dhabi
it is the "World's Furthest Man-made Tower" according to the Guinness World Records Exclamation
