hi,
we are heading into new zealand at the start of april, why is it so much more to hire in april than in may??, can anyone reccomend the cheapest way to travel privately. We are only staying for one month and i dont want the time hassle of trying to sell a campervan before departing, are there any known garages or dealers that have pre-agreements on 'buy to sell' ?
any advice would be much appreciated
thanks |

Im also heading there in April and yes, its more expensive than May.
April is the tagging end of the high season and most places are still charging high season prices.
Also keep in mind thats its Easter holidays throughout most of April, hence it's MUCH busier and they do jack prices up at this time. _________________ Huka Falls New Zealand

Hello,
i am coming over to New Zealand in April as well and i just booked a Camper with a Company called BEDMOBILS. I found them in another Forum and they have been highly recommended. The price is 39,--/day and the camper seems to be longer then some of the other ones. So i think 39,--/day for accommodation and transport is a very good price isn't it?
My e-mail address is elaontour@gmx.de if you want to exchange any information as i have done quite a bit of searching for the best campervan company before i booked.

Hiring a campervan in May is much cheaper because it is winter and there are not as many tourists around. If you haven't already, shop around for a cheap one month hire. All companies do deals and you can find cheap bargains.
Much less hassle than buying one. You will find you will be better off hiring than a buy-back for your one month stay. I would only look at a buy back during the summer months.
Enjoy your trip. _________________ Glenn

Hello,
In general it is cheaper in may because it is off season.

Always interested on how the market is in NZ. How was it getting a campervan hire at a good rate? _________________ campervan hire australia |
