In my very humble opinion I would say that Scandinavia; Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, etc, is pretty well-known for being pretty safe.
Although wherever you are travelling don't forget your travel insurance!!!

Yes I would agree with Scandinavia as a safe culture. I feel welcomed and that the society there is very functional and healthy. However the scandinavian cultures are not shy of risk, for example look at some of the sports that are popular there - rallying, ski jumping, etc. It must be the viking gene!
