I think the first reply you got was very bias and controversial.Jamaica is very nice and beautiful,they do have a high crime rate and lots of proverty,but that is mainly in the ghetto areas and does not really affect tourism.Jamaicans are hard working people and very dedicated to art,history & culture,I would advise you to take the trip or go to Barbados.

Montego Bay, Jamaica - wonderful travel destinations. Tourists are not in danger, but it is recommended for girls and women not to walk alone in dark.

Well, I never ever go there but I know that Jamaica is one of the best Island as well as top romantic destination in Caribbean. There are lots of places for holidays especially Negril. It is one of the biggest beaches of Jamaica where you can do different types of activities like swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving etc.
