I am wanting any tips or advice if possible. I was to travel in Central America with a friend for 6 mths who ended cancelling the trip. I was thinking of still going however i would be by myself. I am wanting to know how safe this would be and any tips on doing this would be helpful. I am a female age 27.
Thanks!!! |

Are you asking about travelling alone in the USA or Central America?
Your title says USA (in which case, why not post it there?), but you've placed it in the Central America forum.
I can't tell by the way you've worded your question if you're thinking of traveling alone in Central America, the US or both. _________________ My flight map. A million miles and counting....Where I’ve been around the globe. |

alright then traveling alone in central america, well go ahead, where in central america do you plan to stay? how long?
you gotta know a few native language, you'll be alone so asking questions, tips, directions will be inevitable. it pays to know a few words of courtesy. costa rica is probably one of the best to visit or stay in central america. although its pricey but with the crowd you won't be left out or you could be able to relate with a lot of tourists. costa is famous so it does inflate prices on accommodations and car hires. but fast foods are around so it can reduce it a bit. your spending will probably be around $40 excluding tours and water activities. _________________ RV hire USA |

Don't travel alone, travel alone is dangerous.when you travel alone you will face many problems by yourself, you can travel with your family or your friend .ofcourse ,travel with your friend is better I think. _________________ I cut and paste too much, so not only has my signature file been disabled, I've been banned! |

Alone is not necessarily dangerous. Traveling alone and not exercising common sense is dangerous. _________________ My flight map. A million miles and counting....Where I’ve been around the globe. |

depends where you go and what you want to do. Travel is as dangerous or safe as you make it, in my opinion. Every country has places that folks just should not find themselves. As long as you educate yourself thouroughly on the places you plan to visit, you should have no worries.
I have lived in Central America (I'm American) for the past 10 years and I LOVE it. So will you.
Cheers

i would also suggest you travel with someone you know and trust. as too how safe central america is i have no idea.
the only info i have is from the news. but you only ever hear the bad. never any stories saying '3 brits spent 4 weeks backpacking through mexico and nothing happened' _________________ Turkey Holidays (¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯) Holiday Discount Centre |

Traveling alone is not dangerous if you use common sense. Don't wander around late at night alone, stay in busy areas, don't wear flashy clothing/jewelery, and so on. Of course, some situations are just unavoidable, but most of the time, if you go with your gut, you're good. _________________ miami hotel deals |
