Did you know that on 8th April 2012 a cruise ship will follow the RMS Titanic's original itinerary?
It will arrive at the Titanic site on April 14th/15th exactly 100 years on from this tragic voyage, where a memorial service will be held to pay tribute to the brave passengers and crew who perished on that fateful night. The voyage will then continue to Halifax, Nova Scotia, the final resting place of many who were on board, before sailing on to New York, the Titanic's ultimate planned destination.
The food served will match the sumptuous menus on the original voyage; the entertainment will include music and dancing in the Georgian style.

I haven't decided if it's a cool or a scary thing...what do you guys think?
I found this info on the net, together with some other unique cruise ideas!

It could be called "The trip of the Memory"...I really don't know who could participate to the Titanic Cruise: maybe some descendants of the families, maybe some curious. Anyway I find it a little scary to sail on the same itinerary: I hope they don't find the same iceberg...

If I was going to spend the sort of money it takes to go on a cruise across the Atlantic I'd want it to be a happy, memorable trip. Surely, anything that focuses so much on the Titanic's voyage and the lives lost is going to be very sad and would take some of the sparkle off your holiday?

It's not for me, although it will be interesting to see if there are many takers. I guess they've got a couple of years to promote it and get a full ship. Hope they've got enough lifeboats!

Those would be reasons not to go.

No, sorry, nothing, or no one, would persuade me to go.

Why not? There are also Lizzy McGuire and the fantastic Good Old Boys (Blues Brothers inside), Michael Bublé, Tik Tok, the Clown Gozo and the real Muppet Show in pure wool (and quite sincerely I'd go only to see Kermit and Gonzo on drums, the rest in a special Easter discount pack) Arrow

I am not so superstiscious to believe that there is some omen or foreboding to being on a cruise at the place where the Titanic sunk. I'm not really a cruise person at all.

though I still contend that the mere presence of James Cameron is reason enough not to go.

No, it's not that I'm superstitious, I wouldn't even worry about the boat sinking, I just find it a bit macabre.

Ok, I was joking about the hypothetic participants to the Titanic Cruise, but in reality I think:
- it should be a vacation and not a sad memorial experience, in my modest opinion this is not useful
- it won't be a very good deal considering the traces the cruise ship left in the possible cruise buyers
- a cruise should be an exchange of happiness leaving our problems at home for twelve or fifteen days
- if they cry, the level of the ocean will be dangerous Arrow

This will really be fun after attending the tribute, we can really live the life for some days on the cruise like in those days. Titanic was the most luxurious cruise in the world and so this will be.
