Those who travel a lot probably suffer from a major problem - lack of anyone else to snuggle up to in bed. However, we at AardvarkTravel have a solution! Erm, no, we're not starting Aardvark Discreat Escorts (unless there's a major demand Wink).

How about the Boyfriend Arm Pillow and Girlfriend Lap Pillow. I was going to go and describe them, but it's easier just to look at the pictures. Apparently the boyfriend one now includes a slow heartbeat to send you into a gentle sleep.

I was awoke in my (quite upmarket) hotel bedroom in Manila at about 1am by the phone ringing.
"Hello sir, this is Reception. Your lady is here for you"
"Whaaa? I don't know what youre talking about" I'm half asleep. "I didn't ask for a lady"
Dangerous moment here... I'm on a business trip, my wife 3000km away.
"Your friend sir. He bought her for you. She is coming up now."
"Which friend? Was it Rodney?" Rod was the wilder of my very mild co-travellers.
"Yes sir."
"Nononononono. I don't want her. You've made a mistake."
"She is on the way up, sir."

Oh Sh!t. I paced the floor thinking of the best way to make a late night Philippino Hooker go away fast.

Phones rings again. "Very sorry sir. We had the wrong room."

Next morning Rodney denies all in a very convincing fashion. In fact he apologises that he didn't think us such a prank.
In the end I think it was all Receptions attempt to generate a bit more money. Call up lonely businessmen in their rooms and try their luck at a bit of pimpage.

Not sure I think this would work. Maybe ok for lying on a couch watching tv, but sleeping with this, eeek! Bizarre invention!

Um yeah...

This wouldn't work for me. If I am in a hostel and someone else pulled out a half-human replica with a heat beat and all, I don't think that I'd be able to catch a wink of sleep. I might even change rooms. Can you imagine explaining that one to someone?

When I was on my way home from Australia (to Canada) I had to carry around this Steve Irwin doll that had several catch phrases it would repeat if you squeezed its stomach hard enough. The customs people in 3 countries got a kick out of it because I left its head sticking out of my day pack, but the people in the hostels? I tried not to show it off and kept it in my main pack while I was still hostelling, but many times when I'd be grabbing something from my pack I'd accidentally set him off...haha, other backpackers in the room would be like, "What was that?"

"Um, nothing..."

That was funny enough to explain to people, but I guess in hind sight, maybe I was just traveling with Steve Irwin to keep me company.

Cheers

These japanese people are strange. They always want to replace technology with human needs. Lately I heard in news that they also invented the 'robot woman' which has similar function to this arm, but more intelligent Smile It (or she) can even talk to you , but it is a perfect wife - you can simply switch off if you had enough Very Happy
