Yes, and there are many more.

In December 2009, France approved a revision to its hotel classification scheme so that it now goes up to 5 stars in order to compete better internationally.

I believe there are now more than 60 hotels in France with 5 stars.

The hotel rating system in France is a lot different from the states. It isn't geared to accommodate overall quality. I believe there are still are 22 different things they consider to be the criteria.

Some of them are as simple as size and number of a room to whether or not it offers elevator use. So what you get as a 5 star hotel in France isn't going to be the same setup as say something Hilton Head.

If you read over the terms and conditions it will even tell you that the hotel doesn't guarantee any type of satisfaction. I think the word they use is "fulfilled."

I definitely don't recommend choosing where you stay based on their system. Plus, there isn't a universal rating setup in France. So if you see a 5-star on one site you might see it as a 3-star on another.

Just something to think about the next time you go there.

Cheers,

Hi there!
There are some hotels in Nice with 5 stars, but I recommend you to check holiday rentals, like these holiday rentals in Nice. There are very well situated - not so far away from the city center and all facilities.[/b]
