anyone know what the rules are when traveling alone on a cruise? As to payment and stuff like that. Do I have to pay for two ppl if I have a room by myself?

Orient lines is generally for an "older" crowd (50+). Sometimes Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, even Carnival have singles promotions.

It depends the policy of the cruise ship, sometimes they ask you to pay the single ocupancy cost sometimes, they do not charge you but you have to shre the room with another stranger. If you are lucky or ship is not full some times you can get a room even you payed half of the cost of the room. Sometimes such thing also happens that cruise company or travel agency book another person to share the room but at the last minut that person cancels his trip and you get a room.

Yes this is true I did it on's before. I booked a cabin for 2 and I canceled on person right before sailing. It is sometimes cheaper. Laughing

Dont think it's a good idea to take a cruise when you are traveling alone. Better join a group tour when you can easily find a partner Wink

Why is it not a good idea to go on a cruise alone linhhuchong? I do most of my traveling alone, which is one of the reasons I've not been on a cruise, the dreaded "single supplement"
