No Paul, "add one coin and place it", you can't lift the coins off the desk.
defeats the object lesson

Well why didn't you say so.
Of course, I was going to place it underneath, rather than on top. If I can't move that coin, though, I guess I could sellotape it to the underside of the table that the coin is on.
And as for the other solutions, they were going to be achieved by re-arranging the coins - eg. different cross shapes rather than an L - and then placing the coin on top - or below.  _________________ UK Hotels - UK Selfcatering - UK B&Bs - UK Attractions
