I have a wedding in Dublin in September but seriously strapped for cash. Can anyone recommend where is the best place to look for cheap air fares from London and any nice but affordable accommodation.
Thanks very much |

Airfares London to Dublin? Aer Lingus, Ryanair. Lodging is a different matter. Where have you looked so far? _________________ My flight map. A million miles and counting....Where I’ve been around the globe. |

Dublin is ridiculously expensive 2 pints of lager you are looking at roughly 10 GBP from a recent trip there.
Have you considered taking the ferry as a foot passenger?

| Hi thanks for the replies, I have only just started thinking about it. I suspect the ferry will be too long as this needs to be a quick in and out visit. |

By far the easiest and quickest way is two check the 2 price comparision sites skyscanner.net and then expedia.
It will save you a massive amount of time.
Skyscanner.net - focuses on budget airlines and searches dozens of airlines across Europe.
Expedia is better for non-budget style airlines and they also often have their own special rates as I think they buy in bulk.
It is hard to beat the prices you will find via those 2. _________________ Bristol Freight Company

The train from Belfast to Cork is not operating fully til November due to a bridge collapse, so Belfast probably not the best option, plus its usually a lot more expensive.
Try out the special offers section in the discoverireland website for accommodation deals, despite the misconception there seems to be fantastic value available in Ireland at the moment, have gone on some super price weekend and midweek breaks this year. Just remember that a 3 or 4 star in Ireland is of a superior quality to one in the UK (different grading systems) so what might seem expensive works out quite reasonable when you see the hotel quality.
Yep, the price of a pint is still expensive (about €4.50-€5) most of which is going to the taxman, but I think you'll agree the atmosphere in an Irish pub is something quite different to anything you'll get elsewhere and worth the few extra cents!!
Skyscanner.net is definitely the best option for cheap flights! _________________ Check out my travel blog http://realtravel.com/member-m4870184-louisefitz.html

there is a website airninja.com that searches all available flights once you enter your departure and arrival. They made some changes to it recently and i preferred its old system but maybe it will help you.
For cheap but good clean accommodation try The Four Courts Hostel. We would happily go back... and they have a list of all the cheaper pubs with pints around €3-€3.50. It's never been cheaper to go to Dublin really. |
